Size & Dimensions

Please make sure to confirm the product type and bleed size with a CAHO consultant. Kindly provide artwork files at 1:1 actual size. If you're using CAHO's template files, just follow the instructions inside the file—you'll be good to go!

Resolution

For clear print quality, please set your PSD or image files to 300 DPI. If you’re submitting AI files, make sure they are pure vector—no resolution setting needed! Otherwise, you might end up in a staring contest with some very visible pixelation.

Color Mode

Please set your files to CMYK for printing. RGB is for on-screen viewing only. CMYK has a smaller color range than RGB, so if you use the wrong mode, your colors might just go on a wild trip and come back looking totally off!

POINT I.
Did you remove the background?

Just because it's on a white background doesn't mean it's already transparent! When you're fully immersed in your creative flow using design software, it's easy to forget about background removal—we get it, we’ve been there too. But please double-check your file before submitting. Need help with background removal? No problem! Our creative consultants at CAHO are happy to assist—for a small processing fee.

POINT II.
Is your text and artwork safe and sound?

Illustrator：Be sure to convert all text to outlines, so your design won’t change dramatically if the recipient doesn't have the same fonts. Use the top menu: Select → Object → Text Objects to select all text for outlining, or go to Type → Find Font to double-check—if no fonts are listed, you're good to go!

Photoshop： No worries if the recipient doesn’t have the font—text will be automatically rasterized. But if you'd like to convert text to outlines like in Illustrator, you can save a copy as Photoshop EPS (*.EPS) and make sure to check “Include Vector Data.”

POINT III.
Do you need to save in an older version?

If you're using Illustrator CC (Creative Cloud), please save your file as CS6, which is the version we use at CAHO. Photoshop files don’t require version downgrading, so you’re good there. After double-checking your background removal and text outlining, go to *File → Save As → Format: .AI → Save, then choose Version: Illustrator CS6.
